Our Story

Butcher Furniture was established in 1959 when Dave & Betty Butcher moved with their young family to Hillsburgh. For the next 34 years, they worked side by side to build a busy furniture business. Their philosophy was always fair prices for good quality. Over the years the store has grown to 12,000 sq. ft. and a second store was opened in Orangeville in 2004. Presently both stores are owned by one of Dave's long-time employees, Marvin McDougall, and his wife Nancy. A tradition started in 1959 carries on.

Since 1959 Butcher Furniture has strived to bring its customers the best Canadian-made, quality furniture at reasonable prices. The unique layout and casual shopping atmosphere sets Butchers apart from the big box stores. In addition to the largest La-Z-Boy Comfort Studio in the area, and two locations to serve you, Butchers offers such quality name brands as Durham, Palliser, Canadel, Tempur-Pedic, Simmons, Leathercraft, and Superstyle to name a few.
